Flow Measurement – Measuring Elements

Use of manometers and other measuring elements (d/p cells) to measure flow rates based on differential pressure from primary detecting elements. The trainee becomes familiar with measuring elements, their classification, purpose, and basic principles of operation. Sixty percent of the course time is used to discuss U-tube and well-type manometers.

Prerequisites: Familiarity with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Basic understanding of pressure and its various units is also required.
