Flow Measurement–Basic Principles
Basic principles of differential pressure flow measurement of liquids and gases; identification and important concepts of installation, calibration, and maintenance of primary and secondary elements. Concept of “rate of flow”; measurement units of rate of flow and their conversion; basic principles of static pressure and differential pressure variations with relation to flow variations; effect of pressure, temperature, and density on d/p flow measurements; and linear and square root scales.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with addition, subtraction and multiplication of whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
